I'm Alone, So I Won't Turn Out Like You

Just Like You - Three Days Grace

"You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you"

I don't know what it is about this song that I love so much, I suppose it is mostly the message. Usually I like Three Days Grace for their lyrics. The lyrics for this song are mediocre, (they are too repetitive for my taste) but they still manage to get across a good message.

You Were Only in my Way

As a kid, I always got along with mom, but somehow I still relate to this song. I love my mom and all but I would never want to be anything like her. Like NEVER. When my sister was going through a bratty stage (well that was like her whole life but I'm talking about when it was especially bad,) her and my mom got in a fight and she blasted this song. It was a total bitch move and my mom was pissed but I thought it was hilarious and fit the moment just wonderfully. Sometimes I wish I could do something that rebellious (yes, that is my idea of rebellious! I'm a good kid.)

You Know I Could be Just Like You

I don't know where parents get the idea that their kids will turn out like them. I feel like most people don't want to be anything like their parents. Also, parents try to live their dreams through their kids which is complete bullshit.Kids need to follow their own dreams, and not try to do what their parents had already failed at. It makes me think of when parents put their kids in pageants like in Toddlers and Tiaras. Its TORTURE. This song also reminds me of the song, The Anthem by Good Charlotte. That song is also a good fuck you song to parents. Shout out to parents that don't suck dick! Well, I mean parents that are good parents, if you suck dick I won't judge you.
